Hi everyone,

We will be having a general body meeting tomorrow night as usual in RSC rm. 413 where we will be selling tickets for the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund event next week (which we are co-sponsoring). More info at the meeting, tickets are only $5. This is a non-political event, the foundation is similar to FIMRC – no politics, just providing aid to children who need it. At the event itself, a sponsored child who is visiting the US for her surgery is going to be in attendance.

Hope to see you all tomorrow night! The meeting will be very short since we're all doing crazy amounts of work right now. Good luck!

-Rachel

Hi everyone,

Here's a quick recap of the upcoming events that we discussed at the meeting last night. Next Wednesday, instead of the meeting, we will be holding our Annual Retirement and Installation Banquet, where we honor the retiring officers and, fittingly, install the new ones. A number of district (state-level) Circle K officers will also be in attendance. If you want to go and have not already contacted us, please do so as soon as possible (i.e. tonight)! It will be about $10 (or less) per person in order to cover the catering costs.

Also, we have some available dates for Feed the Children! It's a really fun activity and assists a great cause. Unfortunately, it is not common knowledge that 12 million children within the United States don't know where they will find their next meal. Feed the Children is an attempt to alleviate some of this unnecessary hunger. If you attend with us, you will help package emergency care packets full of essentials (some are completely nutritional, some hygienic, etc.). It's assembly line style which actually turns out to be a lot of fun. At the end of the session when you see piles and piles of packages, you'll know you made a difference! Here are the dates that we have drivers available:

TOMORROW – Friday, April 9th, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM. (Let us know TONIGHT if you want to go so that we can plan drivers accordingly!)
Thursday, April 15th, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Friday, April 23rd, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Friday, April 30th, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM (this is the day of Rutgersfest, so it may not end up happening; sign up for the others first!)

One last thing! Next weekend, on April 17th, the Kiwanis Family Pancake Breakfast will take place in the morning, I believe around 9:00 AM. If anyone is interested in attending let me know! It's a fun event, you basically help make & eat pancakes.

Good luck with registration!

Sincerely,
Rachel Moseson
Circle K President

Hi everyone!

I hope you've all been enjoying the warm weather! This week, after the general meeting @ 8:00 PM in Room 413 (Cap & Skull) of the Rutgers Student Center, we're going to heat things up even more while raising money for a great cause! We will be meeting at the On the Border (Mexican Restaurant) located in Princeton/West Windsor, New Jersey to dine for a great cause, specifically, to benefit The Kiwanis Young Professionals club of Ewing, NJ. We'd love for you to join us – 10% of your purchase will go to the Kiwanis Young Professionals, a club which is a great transition for college grads interested in Kiwanis!

The meeting should be fairly quick – we'll be on the road by 9:00 PM, and probably arrive back around 11:00 PM.

I'm excited for my first meeting as your president! Thank you all again for giving me this opportunity.

See you tomorrow!

Yours in service,
Rachel Moseson
Circle K President

PLEASE SEE IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE SOCIAL BELOW

To my dearest Circle K members and any random people on this list serve,

Although I am not graduating this semester, retiring from the presidency of this organization fills me with abounding sadness. This year has been a journey of personal growth for me, one in which I learned how fortunate I was to lead a club filled with such heartwarming, caring, and dedicated individuals – individuals who showed me that there are, in fact, college students who are willing to put aside their time, social lives, and even academics to help others on a regular basis. And, for those of you at district convention last week, you know how my Circle K story had a perfect ending. So thank you, thank you for your time and service during my year as president, and most importantly thank you for the memories, the friendships, and the laughs. You should be so proud of your accomplishments, as I am and always will be.

Farewell (now, but certainly not forever),

Teddy

Rutgers Circle K

President

FIRST OFF, CONGRATULATIONS RUTGERS CIRCLE K!

In case you haven't heard about what went down during DCON (District Convention) last weekend, here are our results:

(1) The Morris Silver Single Service Award – FIRST PLACE

(2) Club Achievement Award – FIRST PLACE

(3) Website – FIRST PLACE

Congratulations to the following members:

(1) Christopher Lesiw for OUTSTANDING NEW MEMBER AWARD

(2) Jennifer Hsieh for the OUTSTANDING MEMBER AWARD

Also Congratulations to Jennifer Hsieh for being elected to the DISTRICT EDITOR position!

As you can see Rutgers Circle K, you have a lot to be proud of!

Otherwise, this is just a friendly reminder that we will be having a general body meeting this Wednesday, March 10th at our usual time (8:00PM) and in our usual place (CAP and Skull on the 4th floor of the Rutgers Student Center on College Avenue). We will be packaging and mailing the various things that were made on District Service Day by the wonderful Circle K'ers from all over New Jersey, including the cards for the Hugs and Hope Project and the Letters to the Troops!

This will be a lot of fun so please come and lend a helping hand!

Good morning Circle K!

This is a friendly reminder that OFFICER ELECTIONS for the next service year (April 1st 2010 – March 31st 2011) will be taking place TONIGHT at our usual meeting.(8:00 PM, Cap and Skull Room 413, Rutgers Student Center, College Avenue)

It is important that this meeting begins promptly at 8:00 PM as we need sufficient times for the candidates to speak on their platform.

Instead of going through the agenda, in the interests of time I will hand out the agenda and sign up sheets and we will begin the final round of nominations, immediately followed by elections. (Remember, only dues paid members can vote . . .unfortunately).

REMINDER to candidates:

Please make sure you are ready to talk for 2-4 minutes.

Sincerely,

Teddy
